Contributing to Growth – Lacoste
Contributing to Growth – Lacoste
Lacoste has counted on Roundhouse for many years to contribute to its growth strategy. In part by relying on the effectiveness and efficiency of Roundhouse's EDI system, Lacoste has grown from 18 stores to 63 stores, and increased revenue from $180 million to $1.8 billion per year in less than five years. Over the years, Roundhouse has partnered with Lacoste to develop and implement all of their EDI systems. In ongoing efforts to contribute to Lacoste's continued growth, Roundhouse is most recently developing a new supplier EDI system to achieve higher logistic efficiency between Lacoste stores and licensees, such as Proctor and Gamble. With supplier B to C capabilities, the new system will accommodate the future growth for the fastest growing retail operation – the online store.
No More Chargebacks - an EDI Turnaround Story
A mid-sized sweater importer was having big EDI problems. They were experiencing thousands of dollars of EDI chargebacks because their in-house EDI department was underfunded and lacked the necessary training and resources to effectively manage their retailers. Often, chargebacks were due to inaccuracies or missed shipments, especially when ASN or other EDI issues came up after 5 pm. These misses eventually led to lost customers.

This sweater supplier tried outsourcing their EDI to a web-based provider. Unfortunately, the provider was incapable of handling their EDI needs. Finally, the supplier took on the
3 Month Roundhouse Challenge and gave Roundhouse its toughest EDI account to manage – JC Penney.

Immediately there was a change. The importer no longer missed routings, its warehouse received all paperwork and labels pre-sorted according to inventory, there were no more late shipments and most importantly, there were no more EDI-related chargebacks. Today, Roundhouse manages all of their EDI transactions and their experience of EDI processing has completely turned around.

Managing Unprecedented Growth
Orion, an up-and-coming junior accessory company, was experiencing overwhelming growth. To keep up with the demand and focus on their core competency, they outsourced their EDI operation to Roundhouse. Roundhouse provided Orion with all the necessary EDI infrastructures, software and scalable capacity. As a result, Orion has been able to add trading partners, triple its business and improve operational efficiency without adding any hardware, software or labor. Further, Orion's management no longer has the burden of planning, implementing and maintaining any form of EDI operations. Instead, they focus on their core competencies and growth strategies.
Cost Savings Coupled with Greater Efficiency
A promising organic children's clothing supplier was determined to reduce its costs to process EDI shipments. A review of their in-house EDI expenses compared with the cost to outsource with Roundhouse revealed an astounding 80 percent potential cost savings. Roundhouse, understanding the supplier's concern about missing a shipment during the transition, walked the supplier through their time-tested Roundhouse Conversion Process. Assured of a fluid changeover, the supplier outsourced all of its EDI volume to Roundhouse. They now enjoy prompt and reliable paperwork and deliveries, in addition to the cost savings that led them to outsource their EDI to Roundhouse in the first place.
